The region
An exceptional region between beach, nature, and heritage
Nestled on the west coast of Cotentin, surrounded by protected dunes offering endless walks along the coast, Pirou is a charming small seaside town. Its unique promenade along the seawall, by the sea, and its fine sandy beaches, largely exposed at low tide, invite you to swim, go shore fishing, and enjoy water sports.
Pirou is also a fishing village, the whelk capital (with a large annual festival), and a significant area for mussel and oyster production. You will enjoy all these seafood delights on site, with endless pleasure.
Also take advantage of your stay to discover the wild natural beauty of this Cotentin region in Normandy: Walks in the “havres” (estuaries), unique areas with rich flora and fauna where the sea penetrates far inland, the GR®223 hiking trail, charming villages like Créances or Saint-Germain-sur-Ay, and the preserved landscapes of the Cotentin Marshes Regional Natural Park….
Everything is combined to offer you a rich and inspiring stay, to the rhythm of the Norman coast.
Also discover the fortified castle of Pirou, dating from the 12th century and passionately restored, which will immerse you in Norman history.
